Marine consultants can assist service providers regarding compliance and management systems to meet the requirements of statutory regulation, ISO PAS 23678 and ISO 9001 2015.

ISO PAS 23678 parts 1 to 4.

I represent the British National Standards Institute as an industry expert at ISO technical committee meetings regarding Life Saving Appliances.  I had the honour of being appointed project leader by the ISO working group in recognition of the work undertaken to write and develop a set of training and competency standards designed to interface with flag administration’s policies regarding the authorisation of service providers in accordance with the new IMO Resolution 402 (96).  The ISO standards provide a comprehensive training and competency framework for personnel employed by manufacturers and service providers to carry out the periodic SOLAS annual and 5 – year thorough examination, testing, overhaul, and repair of Lifeboats, rescue boats, launching appliances and release gear.  I have been requested by ISO to remain project leader until the standards have been developed into a full international standard then for a further 3 years to act as a consultant to provide expert advice to stakeholders.

I have successfully gained authorised service provider certificates for numerous service providers worldwide which listed an extensive range of equipment from the following flag administrations and classification societies.
